As a GRETI guest, you have free entry – with warm thermal water, spacious relaxation areas, a family area with water features and slides, a bathing lake, and numerous saunas and relaxation zones with mountain views.
And in the small, elegant GRETI wellness area, relaxation continues: Finnish sauna, infrared cabin, steam bath, plunge pool in the outdoor cold room and relaxation room – here you feel warmth on your skin, the scent of Swiss pine in the air and your mind becomes clear.

Start your day with our “Gipfelstürmer” breakfast – honest, regional, and made with love. Afterwards, the choice is yours: lace up your hiking boots, hop on your bike, or simply relax in the Alpentherme Gastein, which you can use free of charge and without limits as a GRETI guest. And as the day winds down, things get really special here: first, a bit of sauna and relaxation, followed by an aperitivo atmosphere – a drink in our in-house ROOTS Alpine Bar & Lounge or a glass on the spacious terrace in the beer garden. This creates the perfect blend of active vacation and wellness with a touch of home – just like being at home, only better.
Hiking & Family Time

From the GRETI, you can quickly reach beautiful places: leisurely hikes with unique panoramic views, flower meadows at around 1,000 meters above sea level, and family-friendly and stroller-accessible paths – for example, on the Schlossalm. Those who want more can go on a summit tour or alpine pasture hopping with a stop at one of the many mountain huts.
A particular highlight is the Gastein High Trail, which you can start directly from the hotel. The easy-to-walk path leads you along flowering meadows and through light mountain forests, past old mills, rustic farmhouses, and through the Gadaunerer and Remsach gorges. Illuminated tunnels with information panels located directly below a waterfall make the hike both spectacular and relaxing. A true experience for young and old.
Family holidays in Gastein - for adventurers of all ages
For families with children, the Salzburg region is a giant adventure playground: adventure mountains with playgrounds, sensory trails, water features, and easy circular routes make a day in the mountains perfect for children – without stress. A particular favorite is the Fulseck mountain with its forest playground, mirrored lake, and barefoot path – perfect for little explorers and parents who simply want to enjoy the convenience of having everything close together.

Whether you’re after an easy ride through the valley or aiming for “a little more” — Gastein has something for everyone. At GRETI, we keep it uncomplicated: a lockable ski and bike room in the underground garage right next to the hotel, charging points for e-bike batteries, a place to dry your gear — plus personal route tips at reception to match the weather and your level. If you like, we can also help organise lift tickets, bike rental, guided tours or shuttle services to selected starting points.
#Our tip: first take the cable car up, then enjoy a relaxed bike ride back down to the valley.
